Volunteer to mentor a Spectator staffer or recent graduate. Your advice and support will make a direct impact on the success of our students.
Our staffers have a wide range of interests, often outside journalism—we warmly welcome alumni in any industry who would be willing to speak with a student or recent graduate a few times per year, forming interpersonal connections across generations of Spec.
You will be able to:
Engage in monthly 1-1 mentorship and coffee chats
Join in on Mentorship Program networking events
Meet fellow mentors and mentees at luncheons and dinners
Display your profile on the Alumni page as a leader and continue your legacy at Spec
A Spec Staffer will be matched with a Spec Alum in their career interests to learn more about your experiences and get advice from you. This is a great way to give back to the Spec and Columbia communities!
